Me, learning to love.

This is one of those morning when I wonder if I am a complete hypocrite. I woke up all happy, had a warm fuzzy quiet time, and then my kids got up. And one of them stuck their spoon in the other one's cereal. And a war broke out. I was not a calm, sweet, teaching sort of mom. I told them if they don't want to be friends and love each other, THEY BETTER ACT LIKE THEY DO. (For my sake, so I don't have to deal with them.) Faking love goes against everything I believe in. Yeah, I am a mature loving grown up. Laney left the house without saying Good-bye and Gabe left trying not to cry. The only good thing is, I refused to kick the dogs when they got in my way. Is that progress?

What's really funny about this post is that this looks like a lot of homes on Sunday morning. Yet, when we all get to church...

"How are you?"

"Wonderful!! Isn't this a glorious day that the Lord has made!"

"Why, Yes it is!.. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!"

I can just imagine what your dog's face would have looked like if you had kicked it. He/she would have been all "I didn't even have a spoon."

I think it is in Job that it says - "Man was born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward."

And we try to cover up that reality.

Great Post. Your pain has become something good.

You sweet thing!! I love how honest you are!! You are a blessing and an inspiration! I know I don't respond to your Blog as often as I should. I always have thoughts but think I don't have time to really write what I am thinking. (excuses)! Today you made me smile and feel such a sisterhood with you and grieve for the days I wish I could do over!! Hug the kiddos tonight and love them and tell them the truth and you will be teaching them in volumes. The messiness of life never ceases to amaze me!

Tony, thanks for making me laugh. I truly am so much better than I used to be (at one time, I may have kicked the kids!) but I want to show all the different parts of my life on my blog, so no one gets the wrong impression.

Tamara, If you come back here and read this, I love you! :)
